Chinese athletes finished the final day at the World Aquatics Diving World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Sunday with two gold and two silver medals, wrapping up the tournament with seven golds and three silvers in total.
Zhang Minjie and Lu Wei dominated the women’s 10-meter synchronized platform final with 347.58 points, over 30 above runners-up Alejandra Estudillo Torres and Gabriela Agundez Garcia of Mexico. Russian pair Alexandra Kedrina and Anna Konanykhina came in third with 302.10 points.
The women’s 3m springboard final became a duel between two Chinese divers, Chen Jia and Chen Yiwen. In the end, Chen Jia (380.55) edged Chen Yiwen (372.90) by 7.65 points to win the gold. Australia’s Maddison Keeney earned the bronze with 352.00.
The men’s 3m synchronized springboard championship went to home partners Osmar Olvera Ibarra and Juan Manuel Celaya Hernandez who got 430.23 points. Chinese pair Hu Yukang and Zheng Jiuyuan came in second and 17.07 points behind. Anthony Harding and Jack Laugher of Britain were in third place with 396.06 points.
Oleksiy Sereda of Ukraine topped the men’s 10m platform podium by finishing the final with 295.30 points. Ruslan Ternovoi earned silver with 276.05 and the bronze went to Jaxon Bowshire of Australia with 275.50.
