Grand Park Kodhipparu, Maldives has commemorated World Manta Day 2025 with a series of immersive and artistic activities aimed at raising awareness about the conservation of manta rays and the growing threats they face.
The luxury resort hosted a variety of guest experiences centred around manta rays, designed to highlight the urgent need to protect these graceful marine creatures from dangers such as international trade, overfishing, plastic pollution, and habitat destruction.
Among the highlights was a painting workshop where guests were invited to express their vision of manta rays and their underwater world. Using shimmering glitters and vibrant colours, participants brought the elegance of these majestic animals to life through art. The celebrations extended to the beach, where guests created large-scale manta ray designs in the sand, transforming the shoreline into a tribute to ocean life.
In line with its commitment to environmental education, the resort also released a specially produced video exploring the feeding habits, defence mechanisms, and reproductive behaviours of manta rays. The video serves as an engaging educational tool, underlining the importance of marine conservation through scientific insight and community involvement.
“Grand Park Kodhipparu, Maldives continues to offer experiences that help guests understand and advocate for the collective responsibility of ocean conservation,” said Citra Suriah, Marketing Director at the resort.
