A high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia has arrived in the Maldives ahead of the nation’s second Hajj and Umrah Conference, scheduled for the 11th of this month.
The delegation is led by Bandar bin Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Chairman of the Al-Safwa Foundation, and comprises several senior officials from the organisation. Their visit underscores continued cooperation between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia in strengthening services for Maldivian pilgrims.
During the trip, Chairman Al-Rajhi is set to hold an official meeting with the Minister of Islamic Affairs and engage with members of the Supreme Council for Islamic Fatwa. The delegation will also tour the National Centre for the Holy Quran, where they will meet young preachers (khateebs), Quran memorizers (hafiz), and imams.
In addition, discussions will be held with Hajj Corporation Limited as part of ongoing efforts to improve Hajj and Umrah facilitation. The Al-Safwa Foundation is also expected to deliver a special presentation outlining its initiatives at the upcoming conference.
This year’s Hajj and Umrah Conference will bring together companies and organisations involved in providing pilgrimage services to Maldivian citizens, serving as a key platform for collaboration, training, and enhancing the quality of support available to pilgrims.
