President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has called on all citizens to embrace the spirit of Eid al-Fitr by spreading kindness and goodwill.
In his official address marking the occasion, he underscored the significance of Eid as a time for gratitude, unity, and self-reflection.
Emphasising the religious essence of the celebration, the President noted that, according to scholars, Eid serves as an opportunity to express gratitude to Almighty Allah for the strength to complete the month of fasting. He highlighted that Ramadan fosters unity among Muslims through acts of charity (sadaqat), the exchange of gifts, and the offering of sincere well-wishes.
Reaffirming his Administration’s commitment to upholding Islamic principles, President Dr Muizzu urged citizens to continue their personal and spiritual growth beyond Ramadan. He reminded the public to ensure that their actions align with the teachings of Islam, not only during Eid festivities but in all aspects of life. He also assured that the Government remains dedicated to preserving the Maldives’ esteemed reputation by adhering to the values of the Holy Quran at the highest level.
The President extended his Eid greetings to the Maldivian people through a video message and a post on his official X account.
