Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare, Maryam Mariya, led discussions aimed at expanding business opportunities for those working in the agriculture sector.
The meeting was held between the Ministry, the Maldives Industrial Development Free Zone (MIDFZ), and AgroNat.
According to the Ministry, the discussions centred on enhancing supply chain management through mutual collaboration.
The Ministry highlighted that joint efforts among various agencies will play a crucial role in expanding opportunities for small farmers, ultimately boosting their income and improving their overall living standards.
Despite the challenges facing the industry, the Government remains committed to expanding the agricultural sector through strategic efforts.
As part of these initiatives, the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare has been engaging in productive discussions to drive sectoral improvements, including meetings with Maldives Bureau of Statistics to explore collaborative efforts in gathering data on farmers and crop cultivation across communities, as well as discussions on enhancing food security within the agricultural sector.
