The Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the recipients of the BML Scholarship Fund 2025, a prestigious, fully funded programme designed to support exceptional Maldivian students in pursuing undergraduate studies in banking and finance at the world’s top 200 universities.

Launched in 2022, the BML Scholarship Fund demonstrates the Bank’s ongoing commitment to developing local talent and strengthening the Maldives’ banking and finance sector through access to world-class education and professional development opportunities.
Commenting on the announcement, BML CEO and Managing Director, Mohamed Shareef, said:

Since its inception, the BML Scholarship Fund has supported nine students, who are currently pursuing their degrees at leading universities across the UK and Australia. The initiative underscores BML’s vision to invest in youth empowerment, education, and national capacity building, ensuring a strong foundation for the country’s financial future.
