The SME Development Finance Corporation (SDFC) has announced that applications for the Viyafaari Ehee loan will open on March 16, 2025.
This initiative is designed to provide financial support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), helping them manage day-to-day business operations and trade finance needs.
According to SDFC, the Viyafaari Ehee loan can be utilised for inventory purchases, short-term working capital, and acquiring equipment and machinery for business operations.
The loan is available to entrepreneurs who have been running a business for at least one year without interruption. Eligible businesses can access up to MVR 1.5 million under this scheme, with an interest rate of 9.5 per cent per annum.
For loan amounts or total exposure exceeding MVR 700,000, a primary collateral accepted by SDFC will be required. Total exposure is calculated based on all existing facilities with SDFC, including those obtained through other related businesses of the borrower.
The loan comes with a maximum grace period of six months and must be repaid within five years.
Interested applicants can visit SDFC’s official website for further details and application procedures.
