Two companies awarded contracts for 560 rooms under Hankede Project

Two companies have been awarded contracts to develop 560 rooms as part of the Integrated Tourism Development Project in Hankede, Addu City. The agreements were finalised during the Future Hospitality Summit held in Dubai.

The Hankede Tourism Project is overseen by the Maldives Fund Management Corporation, with the China National Electric Engineering Company (CNEEC) leading the development of the tourism infrastructure.

The signed agreements involve two key companies collaborating with the Fund Management Corporation. The first agreement was made with Conduit House from the UK, represented by CEO Jonathan Healy, while Managing Director Ahmed Nazim signed on behalf of the Fund Management Corporation. Conduit House will develop 335 rooms, comprising grand, deluxe, and boutique hotels.

The second agreement was signed with Time Hotel, based in the United Arab Emirates. CEO Mohamed Awadalla represented Time Hotel, with Managing Director Ahmed Nazim signing for the Fund Management Corporation again. Time Hotel will be responsible for developing a 150-room grand hotel and a 75-room deluxe hotel in Hankede.The government has announced that the Hankede tourism project will consist of 1,041 rooms, offering 2,082 beds. This initiative will feature diverse accommodations, including two grand hotels, two deluxe hotels, ten boutique hotels, 64 serviced apartments, and seven beach villas.
