State broadcaster Public Service Media (PSM) will premiere a new program titled “Nation Chat: With the President” tonight at 9:00 PM, featuring President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu addressing the nation directly on key issues facing the country.
The debut episode will air simultaneously across PSM News, Television Maldives (TVM), and Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu (Voice of Maldives), giving the program broad reach across the country’s main public broadcasting platforms.
According to PSM, the initiative is designed to keep citizens informed about the work of the government, with the President himself serving as the primary source of information for viewers and listeners. The opening episode is expected to cover a wide range of subjects, including the country’s political climate, national development, the health sector, social issues, and matters relating to national service.
The new program adds to a growing list of communication channels the administration has rolled out since President Muizzu took office. The President has been holding weekly meetings with members of the press, fielding questions from journalists and outlining the government’s current priorities and announcements.
Alongside these weekly engagements, the President’s Office runs a separate weekly briefing known as “Press with the Spox,” in which the Chief Spokesperson at the President’s Office responds to questions submitted by journalists.
