Visit Maldives to Host Tourism Symposium 2025: ‘The Futureshapers’ Workshop’

Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has announced that it will host the Tourism Symposium 2025 – The Futureshapers’ Workshop – on 1 October in Malé City, bringing together key industry stakeholders, policymakers, and media representatives for a day of strategic dialogue and collaboration.

Organised with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment, the symposium is designed as a platform for knowledge-sharing, innovation, and collective vision-setting for the Maldives’ tourism industry. The day-long B2B event will feature expert presentations, panel discussions and interactive workshops exploring emerging traveller trends, market insights, and the findings of pre-symposium surveys.

A highlight of the event will be the presentation of VMC’s Tentative Destination Marketing Plan for 2026, which will outline initiatives under the Ocean Nation strategy to drive sustainable growth and reinforce the Maldives’ position as a leading global destination.

Industry leaders are expected to focus on key segments including luxury tourism, superyacht and boating tourism, and guesthouse and atoll tourism. Working groups will explore opportunities for innovation, product diversification, and market expansion, while market updates from core source countries – including India, China, Russia, Germany, the UK, Italy, the Middle East, USA, and France – will be shared during the working lunch.

The symposium will conclude with a session summarising key insights and next steps. Post-event, VMC will compile symposium findings into a comprehensive report to guide the 2026 marketing blueprint and support actionable outcomes from the discussions.

By convening stakeholders for this high-level industry workshop, VMC aims to strengthen collaboration, foster innovation, and ensure the Maldives continues to set the benchmark for sustainable and premium island tourism.
