President Muizzu Announces Harmonised Pay Rise for Civil, Judicial and Local Government Employees from November

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced a new harmonised pay structure for Civil Service, Judicial Service, and Local Government employees, bringing long-awaited salary adjustments and pending increments into effect from November 1, 2025.

The announcement, made via the President’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, delivers on a key pledge from this year’s Presidential Address to raise and align public sector remuneration. The harmonised structure is expected to standardise pay across institutions, ensuring greater fairness and transparency for government employees.

He also reassured staff of other state institutions whose pay adjustments have not yet been implemented that their increments will take effect in 2026.
