Maldivian Signs Interline Agreement with Azerbaijan Airlines

National airline Maldivian has entered into a strategic interline agreement with Azerbaijan Airlines, aimed at simplifying travel for international passengers arriving in the Maldives.

The agreement, announced by Island Aviation, Maldivian’s parent company, will enable travellers flying from Azerbaijan and surrounding regions to enjoy smoother domestic connections across the Maldives. With coordinated schedules and streamlined ticketing, passengers will be able to travel to any of Maldivian’s 17 domestic destinations with greater ease and reduced waiting times.

Island Aviation Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas described the partnership as a “golden opportunity” to expand services and improve accessibility for international tourists. He noted that the integration of Azerbaijan Airlines with Maldivian’s domestic operations reflects a shared commitment to enhancing the travel experience and supporting the Maldives’ growing tourism sector.

Maldivian has previously signed interline agreements with other major international carriers, including an ongoing partnership with Emirates, further solidifying its role as a key player in regional aviation.

The new agreement is expected to boost visitor arrivals from Central Asia and improve connectivity for travellers seeking to explore the Maldives’ diverse island destinations.
