Global e-commerce leader Alibaba will host an online workshop for Maldivian entrepreneurs and e-commerce enthusiasts on 16 November, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
Announcing the event, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed said the initiative is part of the Government’s broader strategy to expand opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by partnering with leading global platforms.
The workshop will feature experts from Alibaba.com and offer practical guidance on setting up seller accounts, enabling Maldivian businesses to market their products to international audiences.
Minister Saeed emphasised that the programme fulfils a Government pledge to help Maldivians access major online marketplaces. He added that the collaboration reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen SMEs and create new avenues for local businesses to grow both domestically and globally.
