Minister of Health, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has hailed the pivotal role played by doctors in national progress.
In a message posted on social media to mark the National Doctors Day, Minister Nazim applauded the pivotal role played by local doctors, both past and present in shaping the country’s health system.
“From the foundations of community care to today’s advanced medical services, your contributions have been at the heart of our nation’s progress,” the Minister said.
He also expressed his gratitude to the unwavering dedication, service and the countless lives doctors continue to touch everyday.
The National Doctors’ Day is marked annually on April 18. It is marked on the day the first Maldivian doctor began service in 1964.
