President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced that sharing information with the public remains a top priority, and as part of this commitment, he will address the press on May 3.
The President announced his plans to engage directly with the media during the fourth episode of the Rayyithunnaa Eku podcast. The series is designed to facilitate close communication with the public by sharing information, addressing concerns, and responding to questions.
President Dr Muizzu invited journalists to prepare questions in advance for the press conference. Additionally, he has also expressed readiness to participate in programmes organised by television stations.
Speaking on the Rayyithunnaa Eku podcast, he highlighted that his Administration prioritises delivering results, while also committing to transparency and information sharing. As such, he assured that he will continue to engage directly with the press as much as possible.
The Administration is committed to maintaining transparent communication with the public. To facilitate this, various ministries have been holding a series of press briefings, and Presidential messages are being widely shared across different platforms, including social media, to effectively reach all age groups.
In a historic move, the President used his official ‘X’ account to launch a poll on the proposed generational tobacco ban to steer the younger generation away from tobacco. This is the first time in the nation that a sitting President has used a mass media platform during his term to understand public sentiment on a matter of public interest.
In the fourth episode of Rayyithunnaa Eku, the President explained that public opinion was considered, and the second option from the poll for the generational ban was ultimately chosen as the most effective and well-considered approach to achieve the intended outcome.
